Lion Links
Lion Links: 11/14/19
Happy Thursday, Mane Landers! I hope this downward slope toward the weekend finds everyone doing well. At the time of writing, the MLS Transfer Window has closed and there’s been no news for Orlando City so, that’s a bit disappointing. Let’s jump to the links.
Orlando Pride’s Camila Loan Deal
Camila, the Orlando Pride’s other Brazilian international, is joining Australian club Canberra United on a one-year loan deal. She joins head coach Heather Garriock who has been after the Brazilian for some time.
“The most important thing is that while Camila is great on the ball, her work off the ball is outstanding. She is going to be a crowd pleaser, that’s for sure. I have been waiting three years to see her play in Australia,” Garriock said. “I tried to sign her in my first year but she tore the ACL in her right knee a month before she was meant to arrive. So I have been waiting a long time and she is everything that I saw before she did her knee.”
Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger’s Earlier Struggles
The power couple has shared that they had a hard time playing under Washington Spirit owner, Bill Lynch.
“I just didn’t feel like I was playing for a club that really respected me and supported me and my lifestyle,” Krieger said. “How can I give my best to a club like that? That was so hard to deal with.”
The couple has found a much different environment in which to live, work, and play here in Orlando. Since they’ve made the move here, they’ve announced their engagement and will be married before the year ends.
Quintero to Houston Rather than Orlando and Other Transfer News
It was widely speculated that Orlando City would trade Dom Dwyer for Minnesota United attacker Darwin Quintero. However, it was officially announced yesterday, that Quintero has landed with the Houston Dynamo.
In other transfer news, the Columbus Crew have officially acquired Darlington Nagbe from Atlanta United, Inter Miami acquired Jay Chapman from Toronto FC, and Zlatan Ibrahimović and the LA Galaxy agree to mutually part ways. In true Zlatan fashion, he did not go silently.
I came, I saw, I conquered. Thank you @lagalaxy for making me feel alive again. To the Galaxy fans – you wanted Zlatan, I gave you Zlatan. You are welcome. The story continues…Now go back to watch baseball pic.twitter.com/kkL6B6dJBr

If you’re looking for a great stocking stuffer, Orlando City and the Orlando Pride have released a Home Opener Holiday Pack. For $99 you can purchase the pack that includes two tickets to Orlando City’s home opener, two tickets to Orlando Pride’s home opener, two tickets to Orlando City B’s home opener, and two holiday mugs.
