Happy Wednesday, Mane Landers. The MLS Expansion Draft is over and done with, we’re halfway through the week, and a lot of us are close to some time off. You can do this, everyone! Now, let’s jump to the links.

No Lions Taken in MLS Expansion Draft

The MLS Expansion Draft has come and gone and no Orlando City players were selected to join Nashville SC or Inter Miami CF for their inaugural seasons. Left back Ben Sweat from New York City FC was selected as the first pick and is headed to Inter Miami CF. Following Miami’s first pick, Nashville selected Minnesota United forward Abu Danladi. While too early to judge the effectiveness of their selections, Benjamin Baer rated their selections. Inter Miami earned a B for its choices while Nashville scores a B+. The Expansion Draft set off a flurry of trade activity within the league.

Nani Reminds Supporters of His Passion

While the captain has been out and about on tours participating in skills challenges and celebrating his birthday, he took a moment yesterday to post on social media how he already misses wearing purple.

Orlando SeaWolves Look to be More Physical

In their upcoming second MASL season, the Orlando SeaWolves will work to play more aggressive soccer. The SeaWolves play their first game of the season this Friday at home against the Florida Tropics and have a great chance to put the new tactics to the test.

“I gave the guys two goals heading into the season that we want to be the fittest team in the MASL and to be the top defensive team in the league,” manager Chris Kokalis said. “And I think we’re on our way to accomplishing goals with where we worked on and what the guys are putting in on and off the field.”

USMNT Wins Big Against Cuba

The United States Men’s National Team won 4-0 against Cuba in its final 2019 Concacaf Nations League game to win the group. Once again, the Yanks struck early in the match, this time from a Josh Sargent goal in the very first minute. Sargent scored again and Jordan Morris had a brace as well to help the U.S. advance to the semifinals. The game also marked the Yanks’ last of 2019 to close out a year filled with both highs and lows.

Free Kicks

  • Tottenham Hotspur Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino and his staff Jesus Perez, Miguel D’Agostino, and Antoni Jimenez were all relieved of their duties.
  • The Orlando Pride’s Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris, along with other members of the United States Women’s National Team, helped celebrate Madam Secretary’s six-year run.
  • Sebastian Lletget signed a new contract with the LA Galaxy.
  • In other sports news, a Major League Baseball team may be coming to Orlando.

That’s going to do it for me today, Mane Landers. Have a great day and stay safe out there!
