MLS Unlikely to Return Mid-May

Major League Soccer announced yesterday that it is unlikely to resume play in May. While the news isn’t particularly shocking, the middle of May was the target range for the season to continue, given the eight-week suspension was announced on March 19. You can check out part of the statement below as the league continues to work on this situation.

“Our goal remains to play as many games as possible, and while we currently have enough dates to play the entire season, we recognize at this time that it may become difficult to do so. We continue to learn more every day from the medical experts, and we expect to have additional details in the coming weeks regarding when we can return to play. As we have throughout this process, we will update our fans with every decision, and we thank them for their support and understanding during this extremely challenging time.”

Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger Spending Time Together

Orlando Pride players and wives Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger sat down for for an interview for The Cooligans where they discussed living under lockdown. After being on the road together with the USWNT for the SheBelieves Cup, the pair were ready to switch into NWSL gear for preseason only to be forced to stay inside.

“I think for us, obviously our safety and health is most important and that’s paramount for everyone in the NWSL and MLS and every league in the world,” Krieger said. “Do we want to play? Yes. I want to play every single day, every weekend … but if it is a detriment to our health and our safety, then obviously we’re not going to do it.”

Santiago Patiño Shares His Favorites

A lot of us are spending a more time at home these days and finding ourselves with some free time.
