Lion Links
Lion Links: 4/18/20
Hello, Mane Landers. I hope you all are well and safe as we are more than halfway through April. Did you all do anything fun at home this week? I had some Zoom chats with people in the broadcasting business for school, watched Netflix’s Sunderland ‘Til I Die, and worked out to try to stay fit while indoors. Don’t forget, another Orlando City Classic will stream tonight at 7:30 p.m. for the Lions’ big win over the New England Revolution in 2017. Now, let’s get to the links.
MLS Season Postponement Extended Until June 8
Major League Soccer released a statement extending the postponement of the season through June 8. The league is considering all options for formats to finish the season, including pushing the MLS Cup into December or later. MLS is also in discussions with players about changes to compensation due to the financial impact on the league and clubs due to the coronavirus pandemic. A key caveat to this is that the reduction in player salaries would only be necessary if games are cancelled.
A Mount Rushmore for Orlando City Fans
MLS’s Extratime Radio show announced the Mount Rushmore for Orlando City’s MLS era. Their picks are Kaká, Cristian Higuita, Dom Dwyer, and Cyle Larin. Do you guys think they got it right or do you prefer the Mount Rushmore done by us here at The Mane Land that covers the club’s history beyond MLS?
You knew @KAKA would be the first name on the @OrlandoCitySC Mount Rushmore.
He's joined by @Ddwyer14, Cyle Larin and @CristianHiguit2!
Hear why (including @MattDoyle76's impassioned case for Higuita) and let us know what you think! https://t.co/CE6v0GwLGw pic.twitter.com/fmd2IcD9X3

Orlando Pride Nominated for Tifo Challenge
The Orlando Pride were originally scheduled to have their home opener tomorrow against Sky Blue FC. The Orlando Pride were also nominated for the #TifoChallenge by Sky Blue.
