Óscar Pareja on Soccer After the Pandemic

After an exciting preseason and with a pair of Orlando City games under his belt, everyone was excited to see what new OCSC Head Coach Óscar Pareja could do with the Lions. Unfortunately, it all came to a hard and fast stop amid the global pandemic and Pareja doesn’t think the game will be the same once matches resume.

“I think the soccer world is not going to be the same,” Pareja said. “I don’t think it will be even similar or alike. I think the acquisition of players and the ways we negotiate players and values, for me at some point [they] were all crazy,” Pareja said. “That’s going to completely change.”

What have you guys been watching? I need ideas because I’ve been re-watching shows, so let me know in the comments below!

New Studies Launched to Combat ACL Injuries in Women

An ACL injury is one of the worst and most common injuries in sports, but it is affecting women at an alarming rate. The English FA, which administers the Women’s Super League and Championship competitions, is launching an audit of ACL injuries in its top two tiers.

“One of the ways to reduce the risk of an ACL is relatively simple: getting the girls to land correctly or to cut and rotate well. We call it ‘general movement competency’ and this is influenced by growth and maturation in both boys and girls. However, changes that occur to both hip width and things such as increased circulating estrogen form part of a complex puzzle that contributes to girls being classed as high-risk athletes.”
