Worldwide Pride: Camila Scores and Other Orlando Pride News

After the international break, almost all Pride players overseas were in action. Alex Morgan has yet to make her Spurs debut, but she was on the bench. Jade Moore and Atletico Madrid are now days away from the opening match, and Camila and Phoebe McClernon both did well for their respective clubs.

Below is how all of the players abroad did this past week:

Claire Emslie (Everton — England)

Everton beat Chelsea 2-1 on Sunday to advance to the FA Cup semifinals. Chelsea scored the opening goal five minutes into the match. Everton came back and Valerie Gauvin scored the game winner in the 63rd minute. Emslie was not on the game day roster. The semifinal match is Wednesday against Birmingham City.

Alanna Kennedy (Tottenham — England), Shelina Zadorsky (Tottenham — England), Alex Morgan (Tottenham — England)

Spurs got thumped, 4-0, against Arsenal on Saturday. All four goals came after the 70th minute. Kennedy and Zadorsky both started. Morgan was on the bench but did not make her Spurs debut. Zadorsky got a yellow card in the 26th minute for a late challenge. Kennedy nearly scored late in the first half and then again in the 54th minute. Spurs next face Manchester City on Sunday.

“Alanna Kennedy was a mixed bag in midfield today,” wrote Dustin George-Miller at SBNation’s Tottenham site, Cartilage Free Captain. “She was physical and pressed well, had a lovely spin move in the box and a free header on goal. But she also had a couple of dodgy moments including a foul right at the edge of the box in the second half. She needs to be just a bit tidier, but she’s a presence in the center of the pitch.”

Emily van Egmond (West Ham United — England)

West Ham did not play last week. Their next match is on Sunday, Oct. 4 against Reading.

Taylor Kornieck (MSV Duisburg — Germany)

Kornieck was not on the game day roster as MSV Duisburg lost 1-0 to SC Sand.

Camila (SE Palmeiras — Brazil)

Palmeiras played two matches last week. On Thursday, they took on Santos and won 2-1. Camila came off the bench in the 67th minute and made three interceptions. On Sunday, Palmeiras beast Osasco Audax, 4-0. Camila got the second goal of the match. Palmeiras next face Gremio on Thursday.

Ali Riley (FC Rosengård — Sweden)

Rosengard tied Emea 0-0 on Sunday. Riley was on the bench for the beginning of the match, but entered in the 58th minute.

Phoebe McClernon (Växjö DFF — Sweden)

McClernon has been excellent in Sweden. Not only did McClernon start and play the full 90, but Vaxjo beat Kristianstad 2-1 and moved out of the relegation zone. McClernon had herself a day and was one of the best players on the field. Vaxjo are now undefeated in the last three matches and take on eighth place Djurgarden on Saturday.

Emily Sonnett (Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC — Sweden)

Goteborg beat Pitea 3-0 on Sunday and Sonnett played the full 90. She received a yellow card. With three wins in a row, Goteborg is now just one point behind first place Rosengard.

Erin McLeod (Ungmennafélag Stjarnan — Iceland)

Stjarnan rebounded from its losses before the international break with a 2-0 win over KR Reykjavik. McLeod started and earned a shutout.

Carson Pickett (Apollon Ladies FC — Cyprus)

The Apollon Ladies did not play. Their next match is Oct. 4 against Nea Salamina.

Jade Moore (Atletico Madrid — Spain)

Atletico Madrid will take on Espanyol on Sunday in the first match of the season.
