Orlando City B vs. Greenville Triumph SC: Preview and How to Watch

Orlando City B (1-6-3, 6 points) will return to action tonight looking to break its longest losing streak of the season. To accomplish that, the Young Lions will need a result on the road against the best team in USL League One, Greenville Triumph SC (9-2-1, 28 points).

OCB’s best chance to break its current losing streak was probably last weekend when the Young Lions faced off with New England Revolution II. It was the only team they’ve beaten this season, having defeated them 2-0 back on Aug. 7. An early second-half goal was too much for OCB to overcome in the return game as the Lions fell 1-0 for their third straight loss.

Tonight, OCB will face its toughest test, traveling to South Carolina to take on Greenville Triumph SC. After losing in the USL League One final in 2019, the Triumph have been the best team in the country’s third division in 2020. The only three games this year they haven’t won included a 0-0 draw against Forward Madison FC, a 1-0 loss to New England Revolution II, and a 2-0 loss to the Richmond Kickers. Greenville is currently on a four-game winning streak.

The Triumph are led by Jake Keegan, who is in his second season with the team. He has a team-leading five goals in 12 games and leads the team in shots with 24. Lachlan McLean and Alex Morrell are two of the primary creators, providing five of the team’s assists.

Defensively, Dallas Jaye is on pace to collect his second consecutive USL League One Goalkeeper of the Year Award. The 27-year-old Guam international has recorded eight clean sheets and conceded six goals in 12 games. Both of those statistics lead the league this season.

OCB will be getting Franklin Carabali back after he served his one-game suspension against New England but the team is still far from full health. The Young Lions have suffered injuries recently to key players like Raul Aguilera and captain Mateo Rodas. OCB Head Coach Marcelo Neveleff mentioned the health problems after the last game by stating, “We need to go back and see who is healthy, who is not. We’ve got a lot of players out this week, so hopefully we’ll get everybody available and we need to wait and see what we’re going to do.”

Facing the best team in the league on the road, OCB will need to have as many players available as possible if the Lions hope to take points tonight.
