Worldwide Pride: Van Egmond Scores Again and Other Orlando Pride News

Published

on

It was another busy week for Orlando Pride players. Just about every player abroad played for their respective club team. However, wins were hard to come by and only three teams won this past weekend.

Below is how all of the players abroad did this past week:

Claire Emslie (Everton — England)

Emslie started in Everton’s 2-2 draw against Brighton. She played 63 minutes before being substituted. That result ended Everton’s win streak and dropped the team down to second place. Emslie had a few chances but was unable to get on the score sheet.

Emily van Egmond (West Ham United — England)

It was another tough week for West Ham. The Hammers went up against Manchester United and Americans Christen Press and Tobin Heath both scored in a 4-2 United victory. Van Egmond got herself on the scoresheet. Her goal can be seen here just after the one minute mark.

Alanna Kennedy (Tottenham — England), Shelina Zadorsky (Tottenham — England), Alex Morgan (Tottenham — England)

Still no Alex Morgan for Spurs, as the striker announced that she picked up a slight setback. However, Zadorsky and Kennedy both started for Spurs. Unlucky for them, they came up against a high flying Arsenal squad that hammered Tottenham, 6-1. The score was 5-0 at halftime, so at least the second 45 minutes was close.

Jade Moore (Atletico Madrid — Spain)

Jade Moore played the entire match in Atletico’s 2-0 win over Santa Teresa. Atletico is undefeated on the season (2-0-1) but sits two points behind Barcelona.

Taylor Kornieck (MSV Duisburg — Germany)

It’s a rough start of the season for Duisburg, who lost again — this time 5-2 to Wolfsburg. They are one of just two teams in the league that have yet to win a match. Kornieck started.

Camila (SE Palmeiras — Brazil)

Palmeiras fell 2-1 to Ferroviária. No word on the lineup.

Ali Riley (FC Rosengård — Sweden)

Rosengard tied Vittsjo 1-1 this weekend. This is now just one win in Rosengard ‘s last five matches. Riley started and played 65 minutes.

Emily Sonnett (Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC — Sweden)

Göteborg was unable to keep its win streak going and drew KIF Orebro, 1-1. Sonnett started and played the full 90. She was also part of this:

Phoebe McClernon (Växjö DFF — Sweden)

McClernon started for Vaxjo this weekend. Vaxjo beat Uppsala 2-0 and now sits in seventh place. That is Vaxjo’s fifth win in its last six matches.

Erin McLeod (Ungmennafélag Stjarnan — Iceland)

Stjarnan did not play last week.

Carson Pickett (Apollon Ladies FC — Cyprus)

The Apollon Ladies beat Lefkothea 1-0 and are currently a perfect four wins from four matches. Pickett did not feature.
