Who Should Orlando City Take in the 2014 MLS Re-Entry Draft?
Today provides Orlando City with another roster-building opportunity, in the form of phase one of the MLS Re-Entry Draft, which begins at 3 p.m. (ET).
There are 62 players available in this draft. If Orlando City selects a player, the club is on the hook for that player's 2015 salary. In other words, if a player made $150K in 2014 but is due a big pay increase in 2015, the Lions would need to add that bigger salary to their budget.
Players who are not selected today would go into phase two of the Re-Entry Draft next Thursday. If a player is chosen in phase two, the club can negotiate their salary and are not obligated to pay the existing 2015 contract as is.

UPDATE: Colorado’s Brian Mullan and Mauro Rosales of Vancouver Whitecaps have reportedly opted out of today’s Re-Entry Draft and can no longer be selected. This brings the number of available players to 60 (as of 11:45 a.m. ET) and clears the way for those clubs to try to negotiate a new deal with their players.
