Orlando City SC has a new Chief Executive Officer.

Former President of Octagon Latin America and OCSC board member Alexandre Leitão has been named CEO effectively immediately, the club announced late this afternoon. In this role, Leitão will report directly to Founder and President Phil Rawlins, and oversee the club's business operations and new business ventures which will focus on a variety of new concepts to strengthen Orlando City's brand both domestically and internationally.

"As we continue to grow a very competitive squad on the field for our inaugural MLS season, we continue to attract the best talent in our front office to help manage the growth of our brand, both in North America and around the globe," said Rawlins in a club press release. "Alexandre brings international club experience that strengthens our staff and provides the insight we need to achieve our goal of building Orlando City's brand as a leading global sports property."

Leitão, 41, most recently served as President of Octagon Latin America where he led strategic planning, helping organizations leverage premier sporting events to maximize brand exposure, sales and business development, including the former company of Orlando City Majority Owner Flavio Augusto da Silva.

Prior to starting Octagon Brazil, Leitão spent 10 years with AB InBev, the largest brewery in the world, holding various roles in the marketing department. Leitão will maintain his seat on the Board of Directors for Orlando City — a position he has held for the past 18 months.

"I'm thrilled to play a more active role in the development of what we believe can be one of the top clubs nationally and a leading property around the world," said Leitão in a release. "I am excited for what the future holds and look forward to working closely with the talented team here at Orlando City."
