MLS Draft 2015 Live Stream: Time, Order, Orlando City’s Picks and How to Watch Online

Published

on

Orlando City SC will select first overall today in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, presented by Adidas — if the Lions don’t trade the pick (and that’s a big if). In addition to pick No. 1, Orlando City currently owns picks 22 and 25 in the second round, No. 43 in the third round, and No. 63 in the fourth.

The first two rounds (42 total picks) are today, and the Lions will have 257 players to choose from. Rounds three and four will be handled via conference call on Jan. 20. We assume there are reasons they can't just do all four rounds today. Probably.

You can watch the SuperDraft live on MLSSoccer.com or on the embedded player at the bottom of this post. The draft will also be simulcast on SiriusXM FC Channel 94, with Joe Tolleson, John Harkes and Jonathan Yardley.

Current Orlando City Roster

Orlando City's 24-man roster, as it stands (unofficially, because some of these players haven't been formally announced yet):

Goalkeeper (3): Donovan Ricketts, Josh Ford, Tally Hall
Left Back (1): Luke Boden
Center Back (3): Aurelien Collin, Gustavo, Tommy Redding
Right Back (2): Rafael Ramos, Tyler Turner
Defensive Midfield (5): Darwin Ceren, Estrela, Amobi Okugo, Harrison Heath, Cristian Higuita
Attacking Midfield (7): Brek Shea, Kaka, Kevin Molino, Carlos Rivas, Tony Cascio, Lewis Neal, Pedro Ribeiro
Striker (3): Martin Paterson, Bryan Rochez, Danny Mwanga

Areas of Need

The biggest holes are on defense. The club particularly lacks depth at left back and center back. Orlando City could also use help at forward and right wing. The Lions won't be able to address all of their immediate needs through the draft, so they will need a few more signings before the season.

Even if Orlando City drafts to fill areas of need, few MLS rookies make an immediate impact, and drafted players might need a little seasoning with Orlando's USL Pro affiliate in Louisville.

This is your open thread, so feel free to utilize the comments section as our SuperDraft to discuss the selections in real time. All selections and trades will be chronicled in their own posts on The Mane Land. Are you ready?
