USMNT vs. Chile: How to Watch Online, TV schedule, Live Stream and More

Orlando City left back / midfielder Brek Shea is on Jurgen Klinsmann's 23-man roster for today's friendly at Chile. We hope we get to see what that looks like, because it may tell us more about what to expect from the Lions' lineup this year. We'll add the lineup to this post as soon as it's out.

This is an important first step in the 2018 World Cup cycle. We’ll see some old faces and new, but of course as Orlando City fans we are most concerned with Shea’s form. Here’s Klinsmann’s 23-man roster, if you haven’t seen it. Chile will offer a stiff test today and is the type of opponent the USMNT needs to start beating with some regularity in order to progress on the world stage.

Here's all the important stuff you'll need to know to enjoy today's match:

USMNT Lineup (3-5-2):

Shea starts on the left side of midfield in Jurgen's 3-5-2, which means he'll be playing a hybrid position with coverage responsibilities similar to a wing back (as a shift to a 5-3-2 when the ball is in the defensive third).

Goalkeeper: Nick Rimando

Defense: Matt Besler, Jermaine Jones, Steve Birnbaum

Midfield: Brek Shea, Mix Diskerud, Clint Dempsey (c), Michael Bradley, DeAndre Yedlin

Forwards: Bobby Wood, Jozy Altidore

Substitutes: Matt Hedges, Wil Trapp, Lee Nguyen, Sean Johnson, Perry Kitchen, Shane O'Neill, Chris Wondolowski, Miguel Ibarra, Gyasi Zardes

Chile Lineup (call it a 3-4-3 w/ diamond midfield):

Goalkeeper: Herrera

Defense: Cornejo, Rojas, O. Gonzalez

Midfield: Valdez, Pulgar, Medel, Espinoza

Forwards: M. Gonzalez, Gutierrez, Carrasco

Substitutes: Garces, Vegas, Diaz, Sagal, Delgado, Valenzuela, Fierro, Vilches

Match thread rules:

This is your live thread for posting comments on the match. So use our comments section below to talk about the game in real time with other supporters. Our match thread rules haven't been well established yet, as we're still fairly new. If you're new as well, welcome to our happy home! While you're here, please observe a few basic rules:

  • Absolutely no links to illegal streams. They can get us in trouble, and no one wants that.

  • Try not to be “that guy” who spews nothing but venom and hate for the team. It’s ok to be critical, and, let’s face it, sometimes the USMNT can be frustrating to watch, but being overly negative relentlessly can sap the enjoyment for others.

  • Keep it somewhat clean and fair when criticizing players / officials. You never know who might be reading.

  • Do unto others in the match thread, the way you would have others do unto you. We are a fun community and want to keep it this way. We have a moderator, but we’d rather let him enjoy the game instead of having to play babysitter.

  • Finally, we don’t have a rule against profanity but don’t abuse the non-rule. Also, any language that is sexist, racist, or homophobic in nature will be swiftly deleted and you may lose posting privileges. We’re all in this together.

Have fun, folks. AMERICA!
