Orlando City Left Back Brek Shea Named to USMNT for Mexico Friendly

As expected, Brek Shea was selected by USMNT Head Coach Jurgen Klinsmann for the 22-man roster for the upcoming match against rival Mexico in San Antonio. Shea and his U.S. mates will face their archrivals at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Alamodome. The game will be televised nationally on FOX Sports 1, UniMas and Univision Deportes.

Shea was one of eight defenders named to the squad, despite the fact he’s recently played left wing for the USMNT. The only other Orlando City candidate for the squad, aside from youth internationals Conor Donovan, Tommy Redding and Tyler Turner, is defensive midfielder Amobi Okugo, who wasn’t selected (again, as expected).

Since the Lions don't play again until Saturday night in Columbus, Shea should be available to face the Crew in the club's next game.

Orlando City is one of 10 MLS clubs represented on Wednesday’s squad. The U.S. is 2-0-3 against Mexico under Klinsmann.

Here is your complete roster for Wednesday:
