Orlando City Captain Kaká Left Off Brazil’s 2015 Copa America Team
With all of Orlando City’s international conflicts, it might come as some comfort to Lions fans to hear that Brazil manager Dunga has left Kaká off the 2015 Copa America squad, meaning he won’t be gone for the June/July tournament in Chile.
The Orlando captain had expressed some hope of being included recently, but from a purely selfish perspective, the 33-year-old needs all the rest he can get during this long MLS season. Still, it's hard not to root for the guy who obviously loves playing international soccer for one of the world's most storied programs when you know he wants to.
Dunga's midfield pool of players is small, which speaks toward using a more attacking formation. He named only four midfielders and eight forwards to the team. In place of Kaká, Dunga will go with Luiz Gustavo (Wolfsburg), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Elias (Corinthians), and Casemiro (Porto) in his midfield.
What do you think? Should Dunga have picked Kaká for his squad? Are you glad he's not going? Take part in our poll below.
