PawedCast Episode 17: D.C. United Review / Charleston Battery & Montreal Impact Preview
The fixtures are coming hot and heavy now and it's hard to keep up with it all! That's OK, though, when you get to talk about cool things, like Orlando City's 1-0 victory over D.C. United Sunday night at the Citrus Bowl. After playing as well as, or better than, the Eastern Conference leaders over two games and having nothing to show for it, it was easy to be discouraged, but the Lions came through with a Kaká goal and held a very good club off the scoreboard.
We pick our Man of the Match, break down the penalty call on Taylor Kemp and give our general conclusions on the win. We also delve into Wednesday's upcoming U.S. Open Cup match at Charleston against the Battery and Kevin Mercer hits us with a little history on that front.
Dynamo Theory writer Carson Merk covers the Charleston Battery and he dropped by to tell us what we can expect from our old USL rivals. Carson is a confident and biased young man and he doesn't hide that in this interview. But he's also knowledgeable and tells us about the players and tactics we might see this week.
Finally, we look ahead at a tough road match-up with the Montreal Impact in what will be the team's third game in seven days. And, as always, you'll get our bold, sure-to-be-wrong score predictions — this time for two games!
