2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup: USA vs Colombia – How to Watch, TV Listings, Live Stream, Lineups and More

Welcome to your knockout-round thread for freedom as we get set to watch the USWNT take on Colombia in the Round of 16.

These teams met in group play in the last FIFA Women’s World Cup, with the United States coming out on top, 3-0. Heather O’Reilly, Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd supplied the offense for the American, and can you believe those were the first-ever World Cup goals for Pinoe and Lloyd? Now they’re grizzled veterans.

The U.S. won Group D, sandwiching wins over Australia and Nigeria around a 0-0 draw with Sweden. Colombia finished third in Group F, drawing 1-1 with Mexico in the opener, defeating France, 2-0 in a big upset, and losing 2-1 vs. England in the final group match.

Forward Lady Andrade has two of Colombia's four goals in the tournament thus far, and the Yanks will have to watch the 23-year-old who once sucker punched Abby Wambach and recently predicted a win over the U.S. The leading score for the U.S. is Megan Rapinoe, who netted twice against the Aussies, with Christen Press and Wambach each scoring once.

Can the Americans advance to the quarterfinals? Tune in tonight and take part here in our open thread to discuss the match.

Match Thread Rules:

This is your live thread for posting comments on the match. So use our comments section below to talk about the game in real time with other supporters. If you're new, welcome to our happy home! While you're here, please observe a few basic rules:

  • Absolutely no links to illegal streams. They can get us in trouble, and no one wants that.
  • Try not to be “that guy” who spews nothing but venom and hate for the team. It’s ok to be critical, and, let’s face it, sometimes even the best teams can be frustrating to watch, but being overly negative relentlessly can sap the enjoyment for others.
  • Keep it somewhat clean and fair when criticizing players / officials. You never know who might be reading.
  • Do unto others in the match thread, the way you would have others do unto you. We are a fun community and want to keep it this way. We have a moderator, but we’d rather let him enjoy the game instead of having to play babysitter.
  • Finally, we don’t have a rule against profanity but don’t abuse the non-rule. Also, any language that is sexist, racist, or homophobic in nature will be swiftly deleted and you may lose posting privileges. We’re all in this together.
