PawedCast Episode 30: Chicago Fire Review / New York Red Bulls Preview
We're back with Episode 30 of The Mane Land PawedCast and we're all pretty stoked about the Lions getting back-to-back wins. You know what I'm saying? Like, winning is better than losing!
Daniel McGann and Andrew Harrison join me to break down the 1-0 victory over Chicago Fire at Toyota Park, giving you our overall thoughts on the match, discuss what Brek Shea’s return has meant to the club, and hand out our selections for Man of the Match.
The defense seems to be starting to gel now that David Mateos has played a few matches in purple and that’s great to see. But also we’re seeing goals, which is something we didn’t get to experience a lot of the last couple of months. Bryan Rochez has had a couple of super-sub performances off the bench and that could lead to a start this Friday.
Speaking of Friday, we are joined by Jason Iapicco from Once a Metro to preview this weekend’s game at Red Bull Arena against New York Red Bulls. Jason gives us the RBNY perspective and it’s unanimous — we all want Orlando City to finish ahead of New York City FC.
And before we get out of here, we give you our key match-ups for Friday night and our final score predictions.
Here's how the magic happened:
0:26- Me, Daniel and Andrew are thrilled with more points, excited to have Brek Shea back, and intrigued to see what Adrian Heath does with his lineup on Friday.
15:40- Jason jumps aboard to let us know what’s changed with the Red Bulls since the last meeting and that we’re probably right to be upset about Sacha Kljestan’s behavior in the last meeting, which got Cyle Larin sent off. But hey, every team goes through it some time.
38:02- Prognostication time! Who will start? What's the key to the match? Who will win? We take our best shot at getting it right for a change, and — surprise! — we're split on this.
That's it for this go-round. We'll see you again next week.
