PawedCast Episode 33: USA-Mexico Review / New York City FC Preview
It seems like only yesterday we were filling the bowl for Orlando City's inaugural MLS match against fellow expansion side New York City FC. But now we're just a day away from the final home game of this first season in the league against…yep, NYCFC.
We're excited about Friday but also sad to see the season coming to a close. We'll get over that sadness if the Lions can stay in the playoff race for at least one more week.
With no Orlando City match to break down coming off the bye week, we instead shift gears and look back at the USMNT's disappointing 3-2 loss to Mexico in the CONCACAF Cup on Saturday. We discuss Jurgen Klinsmann and Brek Shea's involvement in the Costa Rica friendly. Plus, we look ahead to OCSC's expansion into the USL and NWSL. We should learn more about the USL team today.
And we’re joined by Rafa Noboa y Rivera, editor-in-chief over at Hudson River Blue. Raf tells us what’s new with NYCFC, talks about their recent upswing, and previews what their lineup will look like. He also gives us his final score prediction for Friday.
And we give you our key match-ups and score predictions as well.
Here's how the show unfolded:
0:26- USMNT talk, what's up with Jurgen Klinsmann and a look at Orlando City's upcoming expansion into the USL and NWSL.
33:04- Raf jumps aboard and tells us what we can expect from the New York City FC match on Friday.
55:56- Our key match-ups for Friday's home finale for Orlando City and our final score predictions.
That's it! We'll see you next week.
