Eastern Florida State College Prepares for OCB Debut
It’s been about six weeks now since the announcement of OCB, Orlando City’s new USL franchise, and Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, FL, is now starting preparations for OCB to take the field for its debut campaign in the USL. OCB is scheduled to start playing in Melbourne at EFSC in March, but with over 2,000 temporary bleachers needing to be added to meet USL’s minimum seating requirements, EFSC is trying to get a head start on the implementation.

No Homecoming for Dax in 2016
After narrowly losing out to Columbus Crew SC in the MLS Eastern Conference Finals, the New York Red Bulls wasted no time at all in announcing that they will be picking up the option they have on Winter Park-born midfielder Dax McCarty. McCarty, who was a part of this year’s MLS Best XI, had been potentially linked with a return to his home state, however, NYRB Sporting Director Ali Curtis made short work of those off-season dreams.
Like Father, Like Son
I am sure that just like the rest of us, you watched the 2006 World Cup Final between France and Italy, and I am also sure that you remember this:
Well, it would appear that this is a family trait, as Zinedine's son, Luca Zidane, who plays goalkeeper in Real Madrid's youth system, has decided to also lash out using his head. Young Zidane, just like his father, was subsequently sent off in the game, which Real Madrid went on to lose 4-2 to Atlético Madrid.
Ellis, Lloyd up for Awards
On the back of a successful 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup and a historic victory tour that has set attendance records across the country, the celebrations keep on coming for the USWNT. After a hat trick performance in the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup Final, Carli Lloyd is up for 2015 FIFA Women's World Player of the Year, and she is up against midfielder Aya Miyama of Japan and forward Celia Sasic of Germany.
Also in line with that performance, Coach Jill Ellis is up for 2015 FIFA Women's Coach of the Year and is up against England Coach Mark Sampson and Norio Sasaki of Japan. Keep your fingers crossed that our ladies bring home some silverware.
