Orlando Pride 2016 Schedule Released

Following yesterday's announcements of the NWSL opening matches, the league issued its full 2016 schedule today.The Orlando Pride opens its schedule April 17 at Portland and concludes the team's inaugural regular season on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 5 p.m. against FC Kansas City.

"This is an incredible moment we've all been waiting for," said Pride Head Coach Tom Sermanni in a club press release. "A lot of work has already taken place to get where we are, and we are eager for the players' arrival in a few weeks to start training for this once in a lifetime opportunity to start a professional women's team from the ground up."

The Pride will face every NWSL team home and away once, except the Houston Dash. Orlando will host the Dash twice and also travel to Houston twice. The four matches against the most recent NWSL expansion side may establish an early rivalry between the two clubs. The longest road stretch is four straight games from May 20 to June 18. From June 23 to July 16, the club will play four consecutive times at home.

Orlando will play one home game in April and August and two home matches in May, June, July and September. The Pride will have one road game in April, two in June, July and September, and three in May. There is only one league game scheduled for Orlando in August due to the international break.

The club will play five times at home on Saturday, three times on Sunday, and once each on Friday and Thursday. Orlando will play road games six times on Saturday, twice on Sunday and once each on Friday and Wednesday.
