PawedCast Episode 44: Portland Timbers Review and Philadelphia Union Preview

Orlando City put together its most complete performance of the season with Sunday night’s 4-1 dismembering of the MLS Cup champion Portland Timbers. We’re here to break down captain Kaká’s return to the lineup and how big his impact was on his teammates. We discuss lots of scoring, a saved penalty, first goals, injuries and more.

But it wasn’t all good news from Sunday. Cyle Larin and Tommy Redding picked up knocks while Brek Shea picked up a suspension for a yellow card that Major League Soccer painted red on Wednesday. We’ve got thoughts on that as well.

Plus, we preview Friday’s match at Philadelphia against the Union. Joining us to tell us more about our opponents is Brotherly Game Managing Editor Eugene Rupinsky. Eugene tells us why this year’s Philadelphia Union squad is much better than last year’s. He also tells us which Lions Union fans should be afraid of and where Philly’s weaknesses are.

Plus, you get our key match-ups and score predictions for Friday night.

Here's the scoop:

0:12- Sunday night was fun and we bask in the glow for awhile. Set piece goals, penalties, outstanding one-two passing, and a stellar defensive effort. Plus our Man of the Match isn't a surprise so we give a runner-up.

26:53- Eugene Rupinski jumps on and gives us the view from the other side. It's going to be chilly in Philly Friday night on a somewhat short week.

48:36- The midfield is a big talking point when it comes to the key match-ups — both ours and theirs. Plus our predictions will be laughably wrong, as usual.

That's a wrap. We'll see you next week.
