Orlando City, Soccer Community React to Senseless Violence at Orlando Nightclub
By now you've all heard the news. Our city was rocked by tragedy with at least 50 dead and more than 50 others injured after a gunman opened fire at Pulse nightclub very early this morning. It was the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history. Today our city is in pain and we here at The Mane Land certainly send our collective thoughts and prayers to those affected by this horrific event.
Shocking. Senseless. Tragic. Those and many other words come to mind after such an event. This is something that affects us all. Not just here in Orlando, but throughout our country. Because this kind of thing can, and does, happen everywhere. It should never happen anywhere, but to our sorrow we have seen that what should be and what is are sometimes at terrible odds.
Much like our city, the Orlando City and greater soccer community is a close-knit one. We all stand together in times of need. And so it is today, with all of us shocked and saddened and searching for answers that may never come, we appreciate those who offer their support and words of comfort.
We now share the reactions of both our club and soccer community beyond:
