Orlando City vs. San Jose Earthquakes: How to Watch, TV Info, Live Stream, Lineups and More

This is the only scheduled meeting of the season between these two non-conference opponents. The teams split the points last season in a 1-1 draw at Santa Clara’s Levi Stadium that saw more than its share of major decisions by referee Allen Chapman. Brek Shea was sent off in the first half with the game still scoreless. Cyle Larin drew a penalty with a nice move to get past Earthquakes goalkeeper David Bingham, earning a penalty, which Kaká buried in the 64^th minute. Wondo and his USMNT teammates moved on Thursday night in Copa America, beating Ecuador 2-1 to advance to the semifinals. Despite his absence this weekend, San Jose has plenty of talent and seems much improved over last season. Alberto Quintero and Anibal Godoy have returned from Copa America play and midfielder Fatai Alashe is one of the league’s rising stars. Forward Quincy Amarikwa looks rejuvenated since being acquired from the Chicago Fire.

The Lions are 2-0-2 in their last four competitive matches in all competitions, including Wednesday’s 1-0 win at Jacksonville Armada in U.S. Open Cup action. Several regulars appeared in the match, including goal scorer David Mateos, Servando Carrasco, who captained the team, Tommy Redding, Kevin Alston, Carlos Rivas, Julio Baptista, and Kevin Molino.

San Jose enters off Tuesday night’s 2-0 loss at Portland Timbers in the Open Cup. San Jose has not scored in its last three competitive matches, but boasts one of the league’s stingiest defenses. San Jose is 0-2-2 in its last four competitive matches, with both losses coming at Portland to go with a road draw at LA Galaxy and a home draw against FC Dallas.

The Quakes are 0-4-3 on the road this season but unbeaten against Eastern Conference opponents (1-0-2). The Lions, meanwhile, are 1-1-1 against Western Conference clubs this year and 6-4-3 since entering MLS. At home, Orlando City enters the match unbeaten at 2-0-5.

Health-wise, the Lions will not have Kaká, who is still recovering from a thigh injury that he suffered with the Brazilians in pre-Copa America action. Darwin Ceren is probably still a week away as well, but Rafael Ramos has been training with the club and could be available.
