PawedCast Episode 59: Columbus Crew Review and New England Revolution Preview

Published

on

The Bobby Murphy era is over and the Jason Kreis era has officially begun. The new gaffer will lead his team out onto the pitch tonight in a friendly meeting with EPL side Stoke City, but it's really just a warm-up for Sunday's clash with the New England Revolution.

Here to help us break down Sunday's affair is Jake Catanese of The Bent Musket, SB Nation's blog covering the New England Revolution. Jake stopped by to give us the scoop on the Revs, which lurk just a few points above Orlando in the standings. Oh, and to boo us for our puns.

But first, we rewind the 2-2 draw on Saturday at Columbus Crew SC. It was most certainly a tale of two very different halves. We've got the rundown plus our Man of the Match selections from Saturday's game. We also touch on the All-Star Game and the Stoke City friendly just a bit, before moving on to discuss the Orlando Pride's lopsided loss at Seattle Reign FC and OCB's 2-2 draw vs. the Wilmington Hammerheads.

And of course, you'll get our key match-ups and score predictions for Sunday's match. It's another full episode, so start avoiding work and listening to this podcast now!

Here's the running order:

0:13- Crew rewind. Man, those fullbacks gave Orlando trouble. The first half of that match should be killed with fire, but there were positives in the second half. Plus, Pride talk, OCB, the All-Star Game and more.

29:21- Jake jumps aboard to tell us how Kei Kamara is fitting in at New England, and a whole lot of other stuff about what we can expect this weekend.

53:57- Key match-ups and final score predictions. Please don't wager on anything from this segment.

That'll do it, folks. We'll be back next time to recap Jason Kreis' first matches with Orlando City.
