USA vs. The Netherlands International Friendly: How to Watch, TV Info, Live Stream, Match Thread and More

Welcome to your live thread for tonight's friendly between the United States Women's National Team and the Netherlands. The USWNT is 5-1-0 in the all-time series, most recently winning 3-1 in Holland back in 2013. Orlando Pride stars Alex Morgan and Ashlyn Harris played roles in Thursday’s 9-0 drubbing of Thailand, with the former scoring a brace as a second-half substitute, and the latter keeping a clean sheet.

The Netherlands won the first meeting, 4-3, back in 1991. The U.S. has won five straight since then but the teams have met only twice since the turn of the century. The Dutch are a pretty good side, having competed in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The Netherlands, however, did not advance out of the group stage.

With a hat trick on Thursday, Carli Lloyd momentarily moved ahead of Morgan as the USWNT’s top scorer of 2016, with 15 goals. Then Morgan came on and scored twice to move back into the scoring lead.

The United States women have not been beaten in 2016, sporting a record of 17-0-3. The penalty shootout loss in the Olympics, of course, counts officially as a draw. Tonight’s match should be the 18th win of the year, but I don’t expect it to be nearly as easy as Thursday’s romp over Thailand.

Below you’ll find all the info you need for tonight’s match. Feel free to follow along and comment below as the game unfolds.

Match Thread Rules

This is your live thread for posting comments on the match. So use our comments section below to talk about the game in real time with other supporters. If you're new, welcome to our happy home! While you're here, please observe a few basic rules:

  • Absolutely no links to illegal streams. They can get us in trouble, and no one wants that.
  • Try not to be "that guy" who spews nothing but venom and hate for the team. It's OK to be critical, and, let's face it, sometimes even the best teams can be frustrating to watch, but being overly negative relentlessly can sap the enjoyment for others.
  • Keep it somewhat clean and fair when criticizing players / officials. You never know who might be reading.
  • Do unto others in the match thread, the way you would have others do unto you. We are a fun community and want to keep it this way. We have a moderator, but we'd rather let him enjoy the game instead of having to play babysitter.
