USA vs. Romania International Friendly: How to Watch, TV Info, Live Stream, Lineups, Match Thread and More

Welcome to your live thread for today’s friendly between the United States Women's National Team and Romania at the StubHub Center in Carson, CA. This is the second match between the two countries in four days, after they met for the first time on Thursday in San Jose’s Avaya Stadium. The USWNT clobbered the visitors, 8-1, in that match-up.

It’s the final game of the 2016 calendar year for the U.S. women, who are now 21-0-3 this year. This is your weekly reminder that the penalty shootout loss in the Olympics against Sweden officially counts as a draw. The USWNT should put Romania away again and finish the calendar year unbeaten.

Four Orlando Pride players are in the team for these friendlies. Kristen Edmonds and Ali Krieger were left out of the 18 on Thursday, so there’s a good chance both will dress tonight. Ashlyn Harris played Thursday so she’ll likely be on the bench. Alex Morgan scored a brace in 45 minutes in the first meeting with Romania. She may start or could be left out of the 18 completely. Who knows?

Romania is No. 36 in FIFA’s world rankings, finishing second in its group in Euro qualifying. However, the team lost its playoff due to the away goal rule after a pair of draws with Portugal.

Forward Laura Rus was a thorn in the side of the U.S. in the first meeting, and No. 9 will bear watching. Other players to watch include forwards Alexandra Lunca and midfielders Adina Giurgiu and Andreea Voicu.

Notables missing for the U.S. include Carli Lloyd and Meghan Klingenberg.

Match Thread Rules

This is your live thread for posting comments on the match. So use our comments section below to talk about the game in real time with other supporters. If you're new, welcome to our happy home! While you're here, please observe a few basic rules:

  • Absolutely no links to illegal streams. They can get us in trouble, and no one wants that.
  • Try not to be "that guy" who spews nothing but venom and hate for the team. It's OK to be critical, and, let's face it, sometimes even the best teams can be frustrating to watch, but being overly negative relentlessly can sap the enjoyment for others.
  • Keep it somewhat clean and fair when criticizing players / officials. You never know who might be reading.
  • Do unto others in the match thread, the way you would have others do unto you. We are a fun community and want to keep it this way. We have a moderator, but we'd rather let him enjoy the game instead of having to play babysitter.
