PawedCast Episode 87: Goodbye San Jose & NYCFC, Pride-Reign, and Hello Minnesota United

Welp, the Lions are now winless in five games (0-3-2) after a road draw at the San Jose Earthquakes, and a rough home loss to New York City FC. Even though it’s more fun to talk about wins, we’ve got plenty to say about both of these matches as we break them down and give you our Man of the Match picks.

We’re also here to discuss the Orlando Pride, who are suddenly unbeaten in three straight (1-0-2) after a huge away draw at Seattle Reign FC. The point came at a cost, however, as Ashlyn Harris has been lost for two months due to injury.

We’ve got to break down the Lions’ first trip to face the Loons this weekend and Adrian Heath’s tendency to invade the pitch during games. Here to help us do that is our friend Nate Siems from SB Nation’s Minnesota United blog, E Pluribus Loonum — which I named (seriously, I really did).

It’s another super-sized show and you get it at no extra cost, and in fact no cost whatsoever.

Here’s how the pod unfolded:

0:13- Orlando City drew 1-1 out in San Jose but played really well despite using two first-time MLS starters and had a chance to win it on the road. Let’s talk about PC!

14:20- Not gonna lie…I’m really sick of David Villa. The home unbeaten streak is over and we might as well tell you how we saw it.

37:24- The Pride grab a point in a difficult environment despite an injury to Ashlyn Harris. Here’s what you need to know about the 1-1 draw.

48:15- Adrian Heath is reportedly not going to be suspended for Saturday night despite being a repeat offender. Here’s why it’s a good (and bad) thing.

55:15- Nate Siems stops by to tell us all we need to know about Minnesota United and hey, why don’t they give us Kevin Molino back?

1:15:00- OCB will be in action Saturday night at home and Orlando City goes to Minnesota. We’ll give you our score predictions and key match-ups for the MLS tilt.
