The PawedCast returns to its normal day as we try to take some of the sting out of Saturday’s double-header of sadness. Orlando City and the Pride both sustained embarrassing losses that produced their leagues’ respective Players of the Week. That’s not good, but there is some hope in this week’s pod.
OCB won its game at Rochester with one goal and a whole lot of desperate defending. Cyle Larin has been cleared to return to team activities — including games. Carlos Rivas’ ankle injury may not be as bad as it initially looked. So hey, those are all positives.
Joining us this week is RSL Soapbox editor Matt Montgomery to help us preview Orlando City’s match at Rio Tinto against Real Salt Lake. There are a lot of storylines with Jason Kreis, Will Johnson, and Luis Gil all returning to Salt Lake City and Matt helps us dissect those and a lot more.
Besides the upcoming RSL match, there’s a midweek Pride match at Sky Blue FC and a double-header at Orlando City Stadium on Saturday with the Pride hosting Chicago and OCB welcoming FC Cincinnati.
Plus our key match-ups and score predictions for Lions-RSL.
Here’s this week’s rundown:
0:12- Dave and Michael on an unexpected Pride home loss vs. the Dash, the debacle in Chicago, the return of Larin and what he has to prove, OCB’s road win, Gold Cup rosters, and other stuff.
43:30- Matt Montgomery jumps in and drops knowledge on us about Real Salt Lake and what RSL fans have endured this season, plus, who is Luis Gil, really?
1:06:31- Orlando City gets one last shot at a June victory on Friday night. Let’s get to those key match-ups and score predictions, as well as our Ask The Mane Land PawedCast mailbag.
