PawedCast Episode 95: Bantz with Atlanta United, Orlando Pride, I-4 Derby and More

It’s the moment many of you have waited for all season. Orlando City is set to take on Atlanta United for the first time ever and it’ll happen in back-to-back weeks, beginning Friday at Orlando City Stadium. The Lions will take on the Five Stripes in a battle for Southeast supremacy in a pair of matches that are vital for both in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Eric Quintana of Dirty South Soccer and the Mouths of the South podcast returns for the first time since Episode 49 of the PawedCast to exchange a little banter and a bit of information ahead of Friday’s match.

Penalty kick calls haven’t been kind to Orlando this year but last weekend things may have started to turn around. OCB got one late to draw the Tampa Bay Rowdies as the I-4 Derby visited Orlando City Stadium for the first time, resulting in a 1-1 draw. Then on Saturday, the Orlando Pride got a penalty instead of conceding one, in a 4-1 rout of FC Kansas City. We’ve got your breakdowns of these games plus the USMNT’s unconvincing finish to the Gold Cup group stage.

Plus, Cyle Larin called up, billboard shenanigans, #AskTMLPC and more.

The magic unfolded like this:

0:12- Dave and Michael break down OCB and the Pride from last weekend and neither of us was impressed with the USMNT.

29:59- Eric Quintana joins the party and provides the cheeky banter you’d expect (and want) from the Atlanta side.

47:34- #AskTMLPC and our key match-ups and predictions for Friday’s game.
