Orlando City vs. New England Revolution: How to Watch, TV Info, Live Stream, Lineups, Match Thread, and More
Welcome to your live match thread for tonight's match-up between Orlando City (8-11-7, 31 points) and New England Revolution (8-12-5, 29 points) at Gillette Stadium. It's the first of two scheduled meeting between the clubs this season, with the return leg coming Sept. 27 in Orlando. Orlando City is 1-1-3 in the all-time series.
History
The lone Orlando win in the series came in Jason Kreis’ debut as the Lions’ coach last July 31, as Kevin Molino scored a brace for City in a 3-1 win. Cyle Larin also scored to more than offset Kei Kamara’s strike.
The teams also drew 2-2 twice last season (and three times in the first four meetings), starting with the weird affair in Orlando back April 17, 2016, in which the teams reached a controversial 2-2 final score. It was leveled by a very late Lee Nguyen penalty for a handball in the box on Servando Carrasco, who didn’t touch it with any part of his hand or arm. Kaká opened the scoring on penalty kick and Molino scored in the 92nd minute. Between those two goals, Teal Bunbury scored off a corner that appeared to be a goal kick. The second meeting last year reached the same final score on April 30 in New England. This time the Revs appeared the better side for much of the game, but the Lions fought back twice from one-goal deficits on goals by Molino and Carlos Rivas to nullify scores by Diego Fagundez and Juan Agudelo.
The teams met twice in 2015, with Orlando City rallying from a 2-0 deficit in the final 17 minutes to draw 2-2 (there’s that score again) at the Citrus Bowl last April. Cyle Larin and Aurelien Collin provided the goals for the Lions. The Sept. 5 rematch at Gillette Stadium didn't go as well, with New England taking a 3-0 win. Fagundez, Agudelo and Chris Tierney scored for the Revolution.
Match Overview
Orlando City is 0-5-2 in its last seven outings and just 2-7-3 on the road in 2017. The Lions have two wins since April and continue to fall, regardless of what kind of performance or effort they put in. New England has won three straight at home and the Revs are an impressive 8-2-2 at Gillette this season.
The Lions are missing several regulars with Cristian Higuita on yellow card suspension, and Larin and Yoshimar Yotun on international duty. In addition, Jonathan Spector (knee), Will Johnson (ankle), and Richie Laryea (hamstring) have all been sidelined, though Johnson is nearing a return. PC (adductor) is day-to-day. New England is also dealing with some absences. Antonio Delamea (Slovenia) and Je-Vaughn Watson (Jamaica) are on international duty. Kelyn Rowe (knee sprain) is out, while Fagundez, Nguyen, and Krisztián Németh are dealing with minor knocks.

Match Thread Rules
This is your live thread for posting comments on the match. So use our comments section below to talk about the game in real time with other supporters. If you're new, welcome to our happy home! While you're here, please observe a few basic rules:
- Absolutely no links to illegal streams. They can get us in trouble, and no one wants that.
- Try not to be "that guy" who spews nothing but venom and hate for the team. It's ok to be critical, and, let's face it, sometimes even the best teams can be frustrating to watch, but being overly negative relentlessly can sap the enjoyment for others.
- Keep it somewhat clean and fair when criticizing players / officials. You never know who might be reading.
- Do unto others in the match thread, the way you would have others do unto you. We are a fun community and want to keep it this way. We have a moderator, but we'd rather let him enjoy the game instead of having to play babysitter.
Enjoy the match!
