PawedCast Episode 105: Timbers Recap, Revs & FC Dallas Preview, Pride in the Playoffs, OCB, and More

Orlando City did not, to put it mildly, do well in Portlandia. Timber Joey was able to fire up his chainsaw thrice which is only a third of the number of Lions who finished the match on the pitch against the Portland Timbers. It was an ugly, brutal 3-0 loss that left nothing to feel good about and so…yay, we get to talk about it!

On the other hand, we also get to talk about the Orlando Pride, who punched their ticket to the 2017 NWSL playoffs — not because of their 0-0 draw against the Portland Thorns, but because the Seattle Reign lost to FC Kansas City. The Pride can still finish as high as third depending on how things go the rest of the way, but no matter what, they’re in the postseason. So, yay, we get to talk about that! We also discuss OCB’s 2-1 win over the Charleston Battery and what that means for the young Lions, who got just a gem of a goal from Pierre Da Silva on Saturday.

Longtime friend of the PawedCast, Jake Catanese from The Bent Musket stops by to discuss tonight’s match-up between Orlando City and the New England Revolution, and the firing of Jay Heaps. It’s always great to hear Jake’s takes on the Revs.

Plus, we’ve also got our key match-ups and score predictions for both New England and Saturday’s FC Dallas match-up, as well as our #AskTMLPC mailbag (though we’re mail free this week).

Here’s how No. 105 unfurled:

0:12- I’m sick this week but not as sick as I felt watching that performance at Portland. But we give you our Man of the Match anyway and discuss the Pride in the playoffs and OCB as well.

31:57- Jake Catanese tells us all about the Revolution and what they’ve gone through this season and it doesn’t sound any more fun to be a Revs fan right now than a Lions fan, to be honest.

57:52- The mailbag is empty so we give some brief thoughts on HBO’s The Deuce, which we’re both watching right now. Plus our key match-ups and score predictions for Wednesday and Saturday.
