PawedCast Episode 118: Pride vs. Utah, USMNT, NYRB Preview and Paul Shaw Interview

on

The Lions return to the pitch this Saturday afternoon to take on the high flying New York Red Bulls. We know Sacha Kljestan has been looking forward to this one but he’ll have to face his old team without Jonathan Spector or Uri Rosell behind him. We talk about the injury situation and the international Lions who should be available for selection. We also discuss the team selling a minority share to new investors.

After that, we break down the Orlando Pride’s season-opening 1-1 draw against Utah Royals FC and pick our player of the match. We also reflect on a young USMNT beating Paraguay on Tuesday night.

Then our special guest Paul Shaw joins us. We talked to the TV 27 color analyst and OCSC youth soccer director about Orlando City’s start and personnel, what it’s like to be a broadcaster for the club, and his role with developing not only young players, but young coaches as well.

The final segment includes our answers to listener questions in our Ask The Mane Land PawedCast mailbag. If there’s something you want us to address on our next show, just tweet it to us @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. We also give you our key match-ups and score predictions for Orlando City’s big game Saturday against da Bulls.

Here’s how No. 118 unfolded:
