USA vs. Mexico, International Friendly: Preview, How to Watch, TV Info, Live Stream, Lineups, and Match Thread

Welcome to your live thread for the first of two United States Women's National Team international friendlies against Mexico (FS1, 7 p.m.). The two teams will meet again in Houston at 1:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Orlando Pride stars Alex Morgan and Ashlyn Harris are once again on the U.S. roster, although Morgan is returning from concussion protocol after sustaining an injury in the NWSL opener against Utah.

The Americans are 32-1-1 against Mexico in the all-time series after 34 meetings, but the two sides haven’t met since 2016 World Cup qualifying. Carli Lloyd’s goal held up in a 1-0 U.S. win in Frisco, TX. Mexico’s only win in the series came in 2011 Women’s World Cup qualifying — a 2-1 final that forced the United States to win the Concacaf third-place match and then a two-leg playoff against Italy to qualify for the big tournament in Germany.

The USWNT will be playing in Jacksonville for just the third time. The U.S. lost 2-1 to Norway at what was previously called Jacksonville Municipal Stadium in 1996 and beat Scotland 4-1 at EverBank Field in 2013.

Jill Ellis has called in a young squad, with 13 players born in 1993 or later and an average age of 25. It includes UCLA star Hailie Mace, who is listed as a defender although she plays striker in college because Jill Ellis. It also includes SheBelieves Cup breakout star defender Tierna Davidson and her Stanford teammate, Tegan McGrady.
