PawedCast Episode 133: Daniel Byrd Interview, LAFC Rewind, Pride, Toronto Preview, and More

Orlando City’s start under James O’Connor went a lot like its ending under Jason Kreis and its limbo period in between under Bobby Murphy — with a lopsided loss. However, the final score masks what was an Orlando side with a bit of a different energy and points looked very much a possibility until an overturned City goal, with a couple late cosmetic tallies padding the result. We’re here to dissect that game, “the call,” and the team overall. Plus, the Pride’s win over Washington, their upcoming road trip, and some former OCSC player news.

Lions Assistant Coach Daniel Byrd stops by after his first week with the club and tells us about working with James O’Connor, the team’s first game, how the new staff will right the ship, and more.

Finally, we’ve got our weekly mailbag segment, in which we get the band back together! (Sort of, anyway.) Plus a look ahead at Orlando City vs. Toronto FC, with our predictions and key match-ups.

Here’s how show No. 133 went down:

0:12- The Lions lost again. This is not a recording. But it did look like some things were at least a little more cohesive. Our breakdown and MotM picks and our Pride-Spirit recap.

37:47- Daniel Byrd was kind enough to stop by and talk to us about his role with JOC’s staff and the new gaffer’s funny clothes designed to prevent sunburn. Also other stuff.

54:49- Our mailbag and our look ahead to Toronto. It’s prediction time and we somehow agree.
