PawedCast Episode 162: Atlanta Rewind, USWNT, Pride-Thorns, OCB, Seattle and Cincinnati Previews & More

Orlando City SC again failed to capture a win against Atlanta United and for the second straight match failed to find the net. Although the 1-0 loss wasn’t great, it could have been either better or worse. A draw seemed like a fair result but life isn’t fair. We break down the match, discuss Dom Dwyer and the Lions’ missing offense, and give our Man of the Match picks.

We touch on the USWNT’s sendoff series win over South Africa and then dive into the Pride’s problems after Orlando lost again — this time to the Portland Thorns (again). The OCB minute is a new thing after the Young Lions played well in North Texas until they actually scored a goal and then they were dreadful.

Our mailbag is short but fun, and offered us a respite from having to talk about losses. And we finished up the “normal time” part of the show with our key match-ups and predictions for both the Seattle Sounders and FC Cincinnati games coming up.

Oh, and we went overtime in a spoiler-filled discussion of Game of Thrones just to have some more fun after the usual sign-off. Don’t worry, you’ll get plenty of notice if you don’t want to hear that part.

Here’s how show No. 162 went down:

0:15 – Orlando City didn’t win or even score. It’s just not fun, but there are a few bright spots if you really look.

41:53 – A look at the other important games this weekend even though most of them were losses. Plus, Orlando City players as picnic condiments in our mailbag and our predictions for this week’s matches.

1:35:49 – We should be allowed to talk about fun stuff too, so here’s a spoilerific discussion of this season of Game of Thrones, especially the most recent episode.
