Welcome to your live thread for the United States Women's National Team vs. South Korea in the fourth match of the U.S. Victory Tour (8 p.m. ET, FS1, TUDN). It’s the fourth of five matches to celebrate the USWNT’s World Cup victory as the teams square off at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC. This two-game set against the South Koreans will conclude on Sunday and it will be the final game of Jill Ellis’ tenure with the USWNT.

The USWNT is 17-1-2 in the 2019 calendar year, and hasn’t lost since Jan. 19 in an away match against France. The USWNT is 9-0-2 in the all-time series against Korea Republic. The teams last met for a pair of friendlies in the fall of 2017. The United States won 3-1 in New Orleans on Oct. 19, 2017 on goals by Julie Ertz, Alex Morgan, and Megan Rapinoe. Three days later, the USWNT defeated Korea Republic 6-0 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC. Sam Mewis scored twice and Christen Press, Ertz, Lynn Williams, and Allie Long all added goals.

The United States last played in Charlotte in 2000, when the Yanks and Iceland played to a 0-0 draw. While the U.S. not scoring would be surprising, the USWNT and South Korea have played to a scoreless draw on two previous occasions.

South Korea is FIFA’s No. 20 ranked team in the current world rankings. The side made it to the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France but didn’t do well. The South Koreans lost all three group stage matches, scoring only one goal and conceding eight times to finish last in the group behind host France, Norway, and Nigeria — all three of which advanced to the knockout stages.

One of the United States’ key injuries is to Orlando Pride striker Alex Morgan, while Kelley O’Hara , Lindsey Horan, and others are also out as the injuries have piled up. Washington Spirit midfielder Andi Sullivan has been added to the roster. But the U.S. isn’t the only team involved missing some key players. As Hal Kaiser tweeted, Lee Geum-min of Manchester City and Lee Min-a of Kobe INAC are both out due to injury. 

Orlando Pride defender Ali Krieger will be honored at tonight’s match for reaching her 100th cap. She accomplished that way back on May 16 against former Pride coach Tom Sermanni’s New Zealand side.
