Worldwide Pride: Taylor Kornieck Scores Again and Other Orlando Pride News

Hello and welcome to another installment of Worldwide Pride! Many players are finishing up their seasons abroad. Sweden’s season ended, with Göteborg winning the title. Alanna Kennedy got picked up by Louisville in last week’s expansion draft and so the number of players abroad will start to dwindle. This past week was still a busy one though, so let’s look at how all of the players abroad did:

Claire Emslie (Everton — England)

Everton tied Reading 1-1 on Saturday. After an undefeated start to the season, Everton is now winless in its last three matches and has fallen to fourth place. Emslie started and played the full 90. She had a handful of chances but was unable to find the back of the net. You can view the highlights below.

Shelina Zadorsky (Tottenham — England), Alex Morgan (Tottenham — England),

Spurs continue to struggle this season. Zadorsky, Alanna Kennedy — who was recently picked by Louisville in the expansion draft — and Morgan all started on Saturday, but Tottenham was only able to grab one point in a 2-2 draw with bottom of the table Bristol City. Both Spurs and Bristol City are in the relegation zone. Zadorsky and Kennedy played the whole game, while Morgan was subbed out at the half. Spurs led 2-1 when Rianna Dean got a red card in the 77th minute. Bristol City used this to its advantage and scored the game-tying goal in the 92nd minute. Emily van Egmond (West Ham United — England)

Emily van Egmond started and played the full 90 minutes as West Ham fell 1-0 to Brighton. West Ham held 62% possession and out-shot Brighton, 17-6. West Ham had many chances, including one from van Egmond in the first half, but was ultimately unable to find the back of the net.

Jade Moore (Atletico Madrid — Spain)

Atletico Madrid beat up on Real Beits, winning 4-1. Jade Moore came in just after the hour mark.

Taylor Kornieck (MSV Duisburg — Germany)

Duisburg and Kornieck lost 5-3 to Werder Bremen. Kornieck started and played the entire match. She also found the back of the net, but the game was well over at that point.

Camila (SE Palmeiras — Brazil)

Palmeiras faced Taboão da Serra on Wednesday and, well, it was not much of a contest. Palmeiras won emphatically, 16-0. That’s not saying much, though, as Taboão da Serra has allowed 70 goals through five matches.

Palmeiras is in action today in the second leg of the semifinals of the Brasileirão Feminino against Corinthians. The first leg ended in a 0-0 draw.

Ali Riley (FC Rosengård — Sweden), Phoebe McClernon (Växjö DFF — Sweden)

Phoebe McClernon started and played the full 90, while Ali Riley started but only played an hour. Vaxjo used a first half penalty kick to score the game’s only goal, winning 1-0 to finish the season. After a slow start, Vaxjo finished with seven wins in the last nine matches. Meanwhile, Rosengard faltered late on and had just three wins in its final eight matches.

Emily Sonnett (Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC — Sweden),

Göteborg claimed the league title last week and so played in a meaningless game on Sunday. Still, the champions won 3-1 against Vittsjo. Emily Sonnett entered the game after just 15 minutes. She scored an own goal in the 78th minute. Goteborg won nine out of their last 10 matches.
