Since our last show, there has been plenty of news and we’re here to discuss it — some of it with a very special guest. Orlando City announced its post-season roster decisions and we discuss them, even though none of them were all that surprising. The biggest talking point was that Dom Dwyer is now a free agent, but even that wasn’t all that big of a surprise.
We’re also talking about Chris Mueller, Daryl Dike, and Andres Perea getting call-ups to the U.S. Men’s National Team. (The show was recorded prior to last night’s match, so we didn’t get to celebrate Mueller’s big night.) Also, Joao Moutinho had surgery and that’s unfortunately going to take a while to recover from, so there’s that.
OCSC Executive Vice President of Soccer Operations Luiz Muzzi joins us this week and we discuss the 2020 season, what the priorities are for the off-season, how the Lions handled the COVID-19 pandemic so well, Moutinho’s injury, and more. Big thanks to Luiz for joining us and being so generous with his time.
We touched on the Utah Royals moving to Kansas City and the European interest in Orlando Pride defender Emily Sonnett. Losing Sonnett would make the trade for her disastrous, so hopefully Marc Skinner can convince her to stay with Orlando.
Our mailbag asks us about Designated Player slots, Christmas decorations, and Patreon possibilities. If there’s anything — and we do mean anything —you want us to address on our next show, just ask by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC.
That’s all for this week.
Stay safe and enjoy the show!
