Orlando City returned home but not to its winning ways as an 89th-minute equalizer by a kid scoring his first MLS goal ruined what was moments from being a perfectly fine victory over New York City FC. The Lions couldn’t build on Ercan Kara’s early goal, although some good saves from the opposing goalkeeper did help the visitors on that front. A point is a point and on this show we talk about how that point was earned and the other two points were dropped. We also make our Man of the Match selections and wish Mikey Halliday well as he’s off to help the U-20 USMNT try to win a championship.

Following our match rewind, we welcome Ian Hest, founder and host of The Heron Outlet to the program for the first time. Ian and his group cover Inter Miami CF via social media and also their Substack. He was kind enough to join us to help us preview Orlando City’s trip south on the Florida Turnpike for Saturday’s Tropic Thunder matchup. He gave us the scoop on what Miami is doing well and not doing well so far this season.

Following our chat with Ian, we dipped into our mailbagbox, where we discussed Orlando City’s biggest regional rival and biggest rivals outside of the southeastern United States. Remember, if there’s anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the show, just ask us by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC.

Finally, we previewed Orlando City at Inter Miami, providing our score predictions and discussing the key matchups.
