SkoPurp Soccer Episode 116: Denver Rewind, Chicago and Gotham Previews, and More
Barbra Banda scored again but the Pride are still looking for a win with two big road matches this week.
The Orlando Pride have yet to win despite dominating their first two matches of the season. Soccer balls aren’t going into the net enough to take all three points, although Barbra Banda is among the league’s leaders with two goals. The Pride continued generating scoring chances against Denver on Friday but they simply aren’t finding the net enough or starting games quickly.
We break the team’s 1-1 draw against the Denver Summit, check back on our score predictions from last week, and make our selections for Player of the Match.
Our mailbagbox had questions about help for Banda, the High Impact Player rule, and more. Remember, you can ask us anything by hitting us up on Twitter at either @TheManeLand or @SkoPurpSoccer and using the hashtag #AskSkoPurp. You can use that same hashtag and hit @TheManeLand.bsky.social up on Bluesky. Or you can visit our show page, scroll down, and fill out the handy form. We’d also appreciate any ratings or reviews you can leave wherever you get your podcasts, and if you do that on Apple Podcasts, we’ll find them easily and read them on the show.
Finally, we looked ahead to tonight’s match at the Chicago Stars and Sunday’s match at Gotham FC. We discuss the series history, the team’s relative spots in the standings, our key matchups, and our score predictions.
