Orlando City
Player Grades: Orlando City vs. Columbus Crew
Sometimes soccer is dumb. Like when one moment of mindlessness can spoil a wonderfully played, back-and-forth game between two sides that favor a flowing, attacking style.
Such was the case tonight in Orlando City’s 3-0 loss to Columbus Crew SC, which was 1-0 when Rafael Ramos saw red at the 34-minute mark. From that point on, it was really just a matter of the final score, although the Lions did have some opportunities to pull one back before halftime.
Once the Crew made their halftime adjustments, City never really got into the game.
It’s difficult to pass out grades for performance when most of the game was played at a disadvantage. Still, we’ve made a commitment to doing this sort of thing, so here goes nothing.
